THE HOUSE

OUDISSIME is an independent artisanal perfume house founded in Bangkok by French perfumer Antoine Le Galloudec. Its extraits de parfum are built around natural oud from Trat, Thailand.

THE OUD

The oud in the inaugural collection comes from Aquilaria crassna trees grown on a family plantation in Trat. The resin-rich wood is selected and distilled in small batches. Its oil opens with smoky, deeply fermented notes, gradually revealing a soft, honeyed sweetness.

THE APPROACH

During a full-moon evening in Trat, I joined monks of the Thai Forest Tradition for meditation at a secluded temple. The scent of burning mai kritsana stopped me in my tracks. The monks later introduced me to a local oud oil. That encounter became the starting point for OUDISSIME.

My work brings together the structure of French perfumery and my fascination with Thai oud. I compose each extrait with a high proportion of natural materials, including an exceptional concentration of pure Trat oud. Distinct pairings bring out different facets of the oud, while I continue to explore other natural materials from Thailand.

THE ATELIER

Each formula is developed in the Bangkok atelier. The perfume concentrate matures for six weeks before being blended with alcohol to create an Extrait de Parfum at 30% concentration. The fragrance then macerates for four weeks. Each bottle is filled, sealed and numbered by hand.

EDITIONS

Each fragrance in the inaugural collection is limited to 100 numbered bottles. Because each formula contains a high concentration of pure Trat oud, slight variations may occur from batch to batch.

ON SKIN

Try each fragrance on skin and give it time to unfold. Skin warmth and chemistry influence how it develops and wears; a blotter offers only an initial impression.
